He was drafted by both sports on the same day by San Diego teams: 3rd round by Pads, and 10th round by San Diego Clippers. He was underdrafted by Clips because everyone knew he was going to play baseball, and, in retrospect, he was certainly underdrafted in baseball, too.

All-conference player who still holds San Diego State's record for assists in a game, season and career. He set the NCAA record for assists in a game (18), although it has since been broken.

All played or were recruited to play D1 sports.  Kesey was a wrestler at U of Oregon, 174 pound division, won the Fred Lowe Scholarship.  Shoulder injury kept him off the U. S. Olympic team.

Jack Kerouac played football at Columbia (he was recruited by Boston College and Notre Dame).  Broke his tibia, had constant clashes with the head coach.




Jim Carroll ("The Basketball Diaries") played in the 1966 National High School All Star Game for basketball.  Got addicted to heroin.  Passed out during a dinner with a Notre Dame recruiter.

Tom Wolfe pitched on the baseball team at Washington & Lee, had a tryout with the New York Giants.  Threw junk only, not a great fastball.

Stephen Crane played catcher at Lafayette and Syracuse.

James Dickey (former U. S. Poet Laureate) played tailback at Clemson

It's a pretty amazing story. The baseball team at his HS (Long Beach Poly) was really bad, and the basketball team was really good (largely because of him); they won CIF (LA Southern Section, large schools, super competitive) his junior year, and were runners-up his senior season. He would only join the baseball team each year after basketball playoffs were over, so he didn't get as much practice or games in baseball. He was not drafted out of high school and had no scholarship offers. But he was recruited for college basketball, and wanted to play both sports at Fullerton, but Augie said no. He ended up at SDSU, where the baseball coach (Jim Dietz) said that he would consider it, but without guarantees. At SDSU, he did not play baseball his freshman year, and Dietz had seemingly forgotten about him. But sophomore year, after basketball season was over (Gwynn was now entrenched as the starting point guard, and would go on to be all-conference twice), a couple of outfielders got injured, and Bobby Meacham, who had played against Tony in high school, convinced the coach to give him a shot. By the time he graduated, TG was a two-time All-American.

Since no team has won three consecutive Super Bowls, it is likely who won two with one team and the third with another.

Winners of two in a row include:
 the Packers in 67 and 68 (followed by the Jets in 69)
The Dolphins in 73 and 74 (preceded by the Cowboys in 72 and followed by the Steelers in 75)
The Steelers in 75 and 76 (preceded by the 74 Dolphins and succeeded by the 77 Raiders)
The Steelers in 79 and 80 (preceded by the 78 Cowboys and succeeded by the 81 Raiders)
The Niners in 89 and 90 (preceded by the 88 Redskins and succeeded by the 91 Giants)
The Cowboys in 93 and 94 (preceded by the 92 Redskins and succeeded by the 95 Niners)
The Broncos in 98 and 99 (preceded by the 97 Packers and succeeded by the 2000 Rams)
The Patriots in 04 and 05 (preceded by the 03 Buccaneers and succeeded by the 06 Steelers)

I don’t think we’ve had back to back winners since then, so the most likely bet is someone on the repeat winner list who either came from or went to a one time winner.  Maybe if I’m bored I will look up the roster overlaps.  I feel like the pre-expansion era seems more likely, since ther were fewer teams to move around between.

Deion was a good guess, but it was a different Niner/Cowboy. If I did this right, Ken Norton Jr, won the 93 and 94 Super Bowls with Dallas and the 95 Super Bowl with the Niners.
