Wow, nice that they came back and won. Life called, so I missed all of it and my blood pressure thanks me for that. Very nice that Betts is becoming such a force and that Jump got her shooting touch back. No way can the team come out like they did in this game and hope to make it through the P-12 tournament or the NCAAs though. Gotta start much better.

As stated above, all misses were after 4 quarters of play at altitude. I expect arm weariness played a part. At the end of 4Q, we were a perfect 5 of 5 (and note that Colorado was 13 of 16 at that point). [I presume you're not complaining about 100% being uncharacteristic.] In OT, we were 8 of 17 while Colorado was 8 of 12.

It is also who took free throws in OT: Iriafen (64% for season) 0/2; Belibi (55%) 0/2; Betts (60%) 4/5; Jones (75%) 7/11 in OT, 9/13 in game.

The FT% was down somewhat but not more than I would expect given the conditions.

(Btw., Missy thought about calling a technical on Jones but she swallowed that impulse. It would have been iffy.)

I was excited to see my insane large line up with Haley at guard and 3 bigs in 2OT. And it worked. Perfect game for it - an opponent with minimal outside shooting and officials letting all kinds of contact go.

Not sure it’s useful in most games, but given how erratic the young guards are I would like too see it tried a few times before the dance starts.

Didn't someone post that fans want close games? It does get the adrenaline (and BP) going.

Think of it as making us stronger since it didn't kill us. I hear another ranked team is tee'd up for us next.

Ah, here's another good thought. Since we survived Missy & Bacon today, maybe they won't be on the docket for our next game.

On the other hand, it is good to see that the team can recover from a terrible start, even against a ranked team on their home court, at altitude, after limited prep time, and with that kind of officiating.

What an awful, ugly game - raised my blood pressure. Part of the ugliness is obviously attributable to CU style of play pushed by their coach. But a good deal falls on the refs. They let Colorado get away with so much crap, it was disgusting, and it forced us to pushe the envelope. Worse, many fouls called onus were bogus - it was like the refs felt a need to call fouls on us to "even things out". Others already said enough about the officiating, but it was atrocious and made for a terrible game ot watch.

Really happy though to see us come away with the victory for all the obvious reasons. But additionally, for our players to have fought so hard and put up with all that crap, it would have been a shame to then lose. Also, happy that CU, theor coach and players came away the loss, especially Sherrod who I have never liked. Glad she's moving on.

Boston card, I have ot call you out. what was you said about Betts not being able to handle even 20 minutes? She did 29 minutes, thord most on the team and didn't seem to tire to me having to take over for Brink in the OTs. At 14 pts., 8 rebs., and 2 blocks, plus making at least 1 FT under pressure to send it to double OT clearly proved altitude had little or no effect on her. In fact, I think some here make too big of a deal about altitude. Tara dismissed it, and if it was a big factor as some think, visiting teams in all sports would lose to the mountain schools all the time.

So happy to see Hannah find her stroke again. Her shots were nothing but net today. What everyone said about Haley, I agree with and also the props to Fran. I thought Bosgana was helpful even in limited minutes. Real interesting that Tara essentially gave up on Lepolo and Nivar this game, as they did nothing. However, when we ran into problems handling the ball in overtime, Tara did get Lepolo back in.

Another tough game ahead. Wish cal had given Utah more of a fight. Can we hope to beat Utah on only a day's rest after this long affair?

I would be thrilled if Jump "cheated" and gets an extra 30 to 40 games beyond this year's 3 to 11.

1) Why would one do that? It's no more correct to ignore the overtime period as a fluke than it is to ignore the first quarter as an outlier (which it was, but it still happened). It's just the nature of the game, but one part of it is no more indicative than any other.

2) And yet we won it after Brink fouled out.

If we win the national championship, we still have to beat the final boss in the extra bonus level at the end.

Okay, I just finished watching the recording of the game without knowing the outcome. I'm exhausted and my legs are actually shaking.

I knew we were in trouble when I saw it was Bacon and Barlow on the whistles. Boy was I right. This was the Missy of old, not the new and improved. Nonetheless, we played poorly for long stretches tonight. We have to be able to overcome bad officiating. In the end we did . . . barely.

At the end of the first OT we were trailing by 1 with 6.2 seconds to play and Sherrod was going to the FT line to shoot 2. That's where I gave up and accepted that we had lost. I was so upset that I fast forwarded and missed Sherrod missing both free throws and Fran pulling down the rebound and immediately calling time out. We had 5.2 seconds to play and trailed by 1. Tara drew up play where Lepolo set a screen for Betts who rolled under the basket and caught a perfectly lobbed inbound pass from Haley. She was hacked as she missed the point blank layup. With 3.8 seconds to play, this true freshman had to hit one FT to tie and another to go up by 1. She made her first and missed her second sending the game into a second overtime.

Fortunately we blew them out in the 2nd OT and secured at least a tie for the Pac-12 regular season title.

Man we knew that these last 2 road games were going to be brutal, but this was shear torture. I hope all of you Cardboarders out there didn't suffer any lasting damage from the stress of watching this game. You can bet the next game won't be any easier to watch.

Kudos to Haley. In the overtimes she played up to her potential. If she does so at the Dance, we have a chance to go deep or all the way. Today could mark an important turning point, especially after such a dismal start. Kudos also to Lauren Betts! Well done!!

Also, were those the absolute worst announcers you've ever suffered? They were so pro-Colorado it made me sick. Plus, they constantly called the game wrong. That just made the game more difficult to watch.
