With 8 picks left in the 1st round of the NBA draft, ESPN list Maxime Reynaud as the 5th best available pick.
RE: Maxime -

2 picks left in the first round. MR is third best available according to Bilas. Seems like Maxime will go early second.

With 1 pick to go, the ESPN website has MAxime #1 best available. Jay Bilas rankings are slightly different.

Yanic is the guy Maxime has to be better than at the end of his career. They chose that guy over MR. MR needs to have his better games against the Clippers at the start of his career.

Maxime goes to Sacramento with the 42nd pick.

The Warriors could have got him at 41, but Dunleavy traded down. The first time that Maxime dunks on Looney or Post in a preseason game, I'm going to have a little meltdown.

He was too much like Post, I guess, but he has way more offensive moves than Post.

I didn't really understand Dunleavy's moves, based upon the players he drafted. They don't seem anywhere near NBA caliber.

Starting with the 41st pick makes it kinda difficult to find guys who might have an immediate impact.

I've to confess, I was hoping he'd fall one more spot to Washington. Their only reliable big looks to be Sarr, so there's a good chance he'd have gotten a decent amount of burn. Plus, it seems like they finally have some competent leadership and a legitimate strategy in place; it'd have been fun to see him develop alongside what looks to be a promising young core.

Nobadeer - 06-30-2025
Dunleavy should've taken Maxime. GSW had to know Kevon Looney would be leaving? Q Post is 6-10 but plays like he's 5-10? It looks like he had only one game all season with double digit rebounds, and blocked a total of just 21 shots in over 800 minutes in the regular and postseasons.
RE: Maxime -
Mick - 06-30-2025
I would have liked to have seen Dunleavy take Maxime, but not because Post has specific shortcomings. Post is 7' 0" in bare feet, not 6'10. He led the team in three point percentage. He averaged more rebounds per 36 minutes than all but Looney and TJD...he was a rounding error behind Gui Santos. His offensive rating at 116 is about average (same as Podz, Moody, and considerably better than Buddy Hield, Kuminga, Green or anyone they traded). His defensive rating is 112, same as Podz, Knox, little better than Buddy, Curry, wiggins, Moody, Butler, etc.
Incidentally, Post's splits as a starter are considerably better than his numbers as a reserve. Better FG%, 3Pt%, FT%, more rebounds, more points, better OffRat/DefRat splits, and FWLIW, he does better on the road than at home. Not bad for a rookie. Podz's numbers are better at home and as a reserve. Moody is better at home and as a starte.

Looks like decent stats from Maxime, though nothing otherworldly. To be fair, the other starters for the Kings had similar stats, so maybe this was just a very egalitarian offensive strategy. Interestingly enough, the Kings' opponent, the Orlando Magic, started one Tristan da Silva, younger brother of Oscar.

Those seem to be pretty good stats over all for Max. He might have gotten lucky and ended up with right team.;

Maxime and the Kings made it to the summer league title game but fell short against the Hornets, 78-83.
Over the five games Maxime played in the summer league, he averaged 12.8 pts, 6 reb, 1.4 ast. 1.4 to, 0.6 stl, and 1.0 blk for a net rating of +3 over 24.7 min/game. He was apparently dealing with wrist soreness as well.

It would have been nice to see Maxime on the dubs. Instead, they're looking at Al Horford and Seth Curry. Apparently, there's mutual interest in Curry. He's 34 and has played for nine teams in 11 years, including three separate stints with Dallas and
not including the warriors (he got his start in their summer league team). Led the NBA in 3 pt. % last season, but...how come he can't stick with a team?
