It's all downhill from here. Is it sad that the only thing I'm looking forward to is msqueri's insightful writeup of our drubbing?

Going with cold hard reality here,
and assuming we have some injured secondary back,
which I don't know that we will,
going with BYU 28 - Cards 13.
If we still missing key guys, I'd up the BYU guess somewhat.

Former Stanford commits/players on BYU roster:
In addition to the Bear and Tiger Bachmeier brothers BYU's starting running back JL Martin and a second string DE Hunter Clegg where both 2023 decommits. Clegg is listed as a freshman, I assume he want on a church mission before starting college.

Question: do you have any reason whatsoever for thinking that Reich will switch to Brown this week?

Other than we had the worst qb I saw in the last 2 weeks? no, and I'd love for Card football to show me I know nothing.

I am heartened somewhat by someone somewhere on one of the ACC sites arguing over the bottom three in the ACC Power Rankings after watching Carolina royalty watch Brady-less Bill get destroyed by our old friend Sonny Dykes, who seems to do much better in Texas than California:
'Carolina mafia still wielding their influence here. At least Stanford had to take a long flight and appeared somewhat coherent when they arrived.'
Andrea Adelson's bottom three are 15. Wake 16. UNC 17. Stanford
Please. Someone tell me we aren't paying Gulbranson $4 million this year, which is what the UNC transfer from South Alabama is supposedly making.

While we're piling on, per SuperWest Sports here are the
PFF QB grades through Week 1, West coast and mountain D1 teams only:
Quote:95.1—Sagapolutele, Cal
92.7—Colandrea, UNLV
80.3—Iamaleava, UCLA
80.0—Dampier, Utah
79.0—Salter, Colorado
75.9—Barnes, Utah St
72.4—Williams Jr., Washington
70.6—Eget, SJSU
69.1—E.J. Warner, Fresno St
68.8—Moore, Oregon
68.0—Fowler-Nicolosi, CSU
66.9—Potter, WSU
64.9—Layne, New Mexico
64.5—Anderson, Wyoming
63.5—Fifita, Arizona
60.2—Alejado, Hawai'i
60.1—Denegal, SDSU
59.9—Leavitt, ASU
59.0—Murphy, Ore St

52.3—Purdy, Nevada
29.4—Gulbranson, Stanford
Below snap minimum:

And, with apologies to some of my fellow CardBoard members for the source,
SI ranked BG's performance versus Hawaii as one of the five worst in all of college football.

Well played, my man.
Yes, "well played," although devoid of evidence that Reich will switch his designated starter at QB after one (poor) week, however justifiable.

IMO, Reich will start BG at QB. The question is will he switch to Brown if BG is as ineffective as he was against Hawaii.

I'm pretty surprised that Stanford is still mentioned in the College Game Day theme song "We're Coming to Your City." Anyone want to lay odds on whether CGD will ever visit Stanford again?
