2025 Notre Dame at Stanford Predictions Thread - george - 11-26-2025

Like an eskimo buying bags of ice, or a Saudi prince buying truckloads of sand,
I fully bought Mick's extensive list of persuasive reasons why our guys would pull off a massive upset win over the Domers this Saturday.
So I entered my prediction, Cards win 24-21.
Unfortunately, I now realize the so-called persuasive reasons was a bunch of hooey sarcasm fishing out the more gullible among us.
And like a wolf hunts down the infirm or just plain mentally-challenged caribou.
(Plus I may have been drinking heavily at the time.)
Now I realize I've made a gross mistake. Too late.
I really should be picking the Leering Leprechauns to run rampant over us.
However, it's too late, my prediction is locked in.
I'm afraid I'm destined to ride this doomed prediction down like Major T.J. King Kong in Dr. Strangelove.

Heck, I switched from Cal to Stanford on Saturday morning while I was watching the Oklahoma v. Mizzou game. The ESPN crawler noted that Stanford was favored by a majority despite being a betting underdog and I thought, hmmmm, an upset must be in the wind. I think I’ll switch my prediction. I guess it’s ok to switch up until kickoff.

ND is still playing for a spot in the College Football Playoffs. We're not dealing with a Cal clone here. I truly hope I'm wrong. A 5-7 season would represent real progress, especially given the talent we lost after last year.

I say they cover.
NDAM 48, STAN 13. Could be 28-3 at half.
I think their Defensive Line is salivating.
What is the over / under on sacks? 8?
They will love playing in balmy Calif.
Could J.Love bag more than 200 yards?
They might just run the ball until we stop them.
Physics is real. Hope is not a strategy.
Reich should empty the bag on trick plays.
They are playing for a seed in the Playoff after a bad 0-2 start so they need to run up the score.

Game is tied at 28 all at the end of regulation. First OT ends in 35 all tie. The domers win 43 to 41 in the second overtime, Stanford gets the ball first in the second OT and scores a TD but fails on the 2 point try, then domes scores a TD and the 2 point try. During regulation zebra's save the domers by some bougus calls, shades of the 60's and 70's when usc got the bailed out by the refs.
Stanford's failed 2 point try in the second OT appears to be successful and is reviewed and reviewed and the call on the field is confirmed, the 2 point attempt failed. The Tree goes bonkers and BONKS the Leprechaun much to the delight of the college football world. The Band exhibits self restraint which shocks the college football world even more.
Donations to the Athletic Department and University soar.
Harbaugh is on the phone to Luck something about are applications still be taken?

I forgot to enter my 20-19 Stanford prediction for Big Game and regret the oversight. I have not failed this week.
