Fills role left by Eric Reveno who left to become the HC at Brown.

Given that they hadn't named a replacement sooner, it seemed they might elevate Amanda to the GM position, further advancing the idea that she might become Stanford's version of Duke's Rachel Gray.

Dan was part of some great Stanford teams as a player, hoping he can bring some of that magic back to the program.

He authored a great book too, By the Grace of the Game.

So long as Kyle Smith approves (and if Grunfeld is on the coaching staff, he most certainly does), great hire!

Like father, like son.

(Dan's father, Ernie, was GM of the Knicks and Bucks)

My favorite announcer quote about Dan Grunfeld as a player: “Watch this dribble drive! That’s a power dribble—nothing fast about it!”

As much as I'd like to forget it, Ernie also had an ignominious tenure as GM of the Wizards. On a few occasions, I remember trying to talk shop about the Wiz with Dan during KA parties, Stat 60 lectures, etc., before realizing he had zero desire in engaging.

Here's to Dan having a more successful career in personnel than the elder Grunfeld.
