In another thread, someone mentioned that Hogan has a chance to move up to the lead in career completion percentage. His current completion percentage is 65.2%, second only to Andrew Luck's 67%, which means that with a decent year, he has a chance to take over the record. Luck has a chance to move up in the records in a number of categories:
Passing yards: 6523 (if I did my math right), currently sixth. In front of him are:
Todd Husak (6564 yds)
John Paye (7669 yds)
John Elway (9349 yds)
Andrew Luck (9430 yds)
Steve Stenstrom (10531 yds)
Barring injury, he will almost certainly end up ahead of Husak and Paye, and has a good shot of beating Elway and Luck. It would take a monster year (4008 yards) to take the record from Stenstrom. Hogan's best year was 2014, when he threw 2792 yards; if he equals that, he will move into third.
Touchdowns: 48, currently 4th. Ahead of him are:
Steve Stenstrom (72)
John Elway (77)
Andrew Luck (82)
With a good year, he could move ahead of Stenstrom, and with a very good year he could move ahead of Elway. Luck is likely out of reach barring a monster year (well, a year as good as Luck had in 2011, when he threw 37). FWIW, Hogan's best year was 2013, when he threw 20 TD's; if he equals that, he will stay in fourth.
Yards per attempt: 8.16 ypa, currently fourth. Ahead of him are:
Turk Schonert (8.4 ypa)
Andrew Luck (8.86)
Joe Borchard (8.94)
Because ypa will depend on both attempts and yards, it's hard to project how he will do. Hogan's best year was 2013, when he had an average of 8.9 ypa. I suspect if he equaled that and had a decent number of attempts this year, he could move into third behind Borchard and Luck.
I'm sure Hogan has a chance at some other records, but I haven't looked to see where else he's close.
