That's really more a complaint than a question, is it not?
The actual why is because Hilinski is class of 2019 and Butterfield is class of 2020 - and we already have a 2020 QB in McKee.
It's pretty clear that our coach does not like having multiple QBs in a single class.
I am not sure how much of the fan base disagrees, though clearly many (most?) think we should have at least one each year.
I am pretty sure that the last class with more than one QB was 2010 (Harbs last class) with Brett Nottingham, Dallas Lloyd (though really class of 2012), and Darren Daniel.
For all of Harbs' reputation of liking to stockpile QBs, I think 2010 was the only year he ended up with more than one at Stanford - and that's a little iffy as Lloyd went on a mission and I suspect they were always thinking about Daniel as a WR.
