Looks like a beautiful day for baseball.
1-1 so far (B2).
Matte black helmets with Sunday black unis again.
5 runs on one hit after 2. Barrera slam a thing of beauty.

Question for the board:
We seem to bunt a lot more under Esquer compared to under Marquess. How well do we execute? Seems to me like there are a fair number of miscues. Is that typical?

I don’t know enough to answer your question but I’m concerned by the stance they use. They must be instructed to hold the bat horizontally like they do, but that’s not how I learned. And when the barrel is lower than your hands, as seems to happen as a result, the chances of a pop up increase.

We prevail, 10-6. But the Ducks really tested our pitching in this series. Hopefully we can improve, and we won't have to face too many other teams with that kind of offense.

They're in the top 3 in the PAC12 in most of the offensive stats (except HRs & stolen bases) along with Oregon & Oregon State.

More this year than in previous years. Has there been a single successful sac bunt this season? I defer to others regarding technique.

Bob ftw. And that’s 3 too many.
Indeed. In game #2 vs Oregon Stanford trailed 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth. Leadoff batter reached first, next batter sacrificed him to second with Brock Jones on deck. Jones intentionally walked. Next two batters (including Rios pinch hitting, his first at-bat of the year) out, game over.
Summary: played to tie the game and took the bat out of our best player's hands.

Joe Lomuscio was one of two guests on this podcast from Amateur Hour by Perfect Game.
Just listening to the intro for 2 minutes was already a revelation.

Alex Williams walked one (intentionally?) but struck out 3 in the first.
0-0 after 1.
0-0 after 1.

We made so many costly mistakes including not breaking for home on a G6 with no one out, runners on 2nd and 3rd, and infield playing back, conceding the tying run. Let’s grab the W tomorrow!

Mixed feelings on that JJ. Ball hit softly infielder charging towards home.
Plus no outs

First I watched of BB this year and only saw a few innings. Problems we have and need to be corrected are poof fielding and inconsistent hitting. When UA scored to make it 2-1, we needed to respond with a couple of more runs. Instead we were easy three up, three dow.

I expected more from Brock Jones, hitting 250 with 19 strike outs isn't helping us too much offensively.
