Yikes! Drew Dowd didn't make it out of the first inning. 6-0 kal in the bottom of the first. Our offense can score six runs, but can our bullpen slow kal down?

I have no insider info but based on the last few weeks I believe someone other than Mathews will start. Most, if not all, of the arms in the bullpen are searching for confidence. The problems seem to magnify as the game grows later. Since Mathews has already thrown twice this weekend I think it would take an all hands on deck approach until at least the fifth or sixth inning to put Mathews in position to go the rest of the way. There is not a shortage of talent or options in the bullpen but in order for this team to compete in June, more reliable arms have to appear!
(Naturally after a post like this we will have a 1-0 type game this afternoon)

Maybe Ty Uber gets the start today?
Another interesting substitution - Kretzschmar for Troy in the top of the ninth. Paid off with Kretzschmar's turn on a clutch double play to prevent Call scoring the go-ahead run. But would have been nice to have Troy up with bases loaded and one out.

After a masterful performance from Uber to start, this game is getting reeeel interesting with Pancer in relief.
Phew. We get out of the top of the inning having given up only 2 runs. Could have been worse. We still lead, 5-2 after 7 1/2.
