We need more guards/shooters so some commitments from Watkins, Hidalgo or Briggs in the class of '23 would be great. '24 would be where we hopefully get 2 top 10 posts/forwards from the likes of Edwards, Dudley or Thomas.

Really intrigued about 5'6 PG Hannah HIDALGO, who suddenly catapulted up the Class of 2023 national rankings from #18 to #5, and now the top PG in that Class.

Praying on Hidalgo. She looks like a pure PG and doctor's orders for what we need. #28 Chloe Clardy might be worth keeping an eye on—a PG with a 3.89 GPA. And no clue on academics but a PG from Moreno Valley debuted at #49 Ari Long.
#6 from c/o 2025 has a 4.0 and follows Kate Paye on Twitter, Zhen Craft 6'1" W

I totally missed any announcement about Stavroula Papadaki. Can someone fill me in on her story?
check the thread below titled "new wbb signee"
Based on her video, has a skill set similar to many young Euro guards/wings, but she's playing against inferior talent. What I DO like about her is her mid-range game. Good shooting touch. Not sure if she has the quickness to be a #2 guard, but with sufficient playing time; more of a wing.

Also hoping for Hidalgo. From a recent interview last month, definitely seems we are a good possibility. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK_G6Kr8pNI

For the 2023-2024 season, Stanford will have the following post players:
PF - BRINK 6'4 (Sr)
PF - IRIAFEN 6'2 (Jr)
CC - BETTS 6'7 (So)
PF - AGARA 6'2 (Fr) (transitioned from 5'11 SG/SF in HS Frosh/Soph to 6'2 PF/C in HS Sr)
Maybe that's enough (and 6'3 Jr DEMETRE can probably play some PF)
but they do have 2 maybe even 3 more openings from the Class of 2023.
The rest of their 2023-2024 line-up include:
SF - DEMETRE 6'3 (Jr)
SF/SG - PAPADAKI 6'0 (So)
SF/SG - OGDEN 6'1 (Fr)
SG - EMMA-NNOPU 5'11 (Sr)
SG - BOSGANA 6'2 (Jr)
SG/PG - NIVAR 5'9 (So)
PG - HARRIEL 5'10 (RS So)
PG - LEPOLO 5'7 (So)

Yes, I was in the process of getting her name from the "New WBB signee" thread.
And, at this point, the PG situation for 2023-2024 season is still up in the air,
since HARRIEL, LEPOLO and NIVAR have yet to play the collegiate game

I would love to get Watkins and/or Hidalgo for the Class of '23 to complement our posts and then in the Class of '24, we can reload our posts, as by that time, Brink will have graduated and Iriafen will be a senior and Betts will be entering her junior season.
In college, you can't rest on your laurels. You'll have to continue to reload every couple years as players graduate.

Your point about Harriel, Lepolo and Nivar having not played a game in college has been a concern of mine. I may have missed comments about guard prospects in the portal and whether there were attempts to recruit someone, but (no offense to Stavi Papadaki), why make the effort to recruit a wing/guard who may ONE DAY become a productive contributor when Stanford needed a quick, athletic and experienced PG NOW?

Same reason we can't recruit many as freshmen. There's a vanishingly small number who can get admitted to Stanford as frosh, and that number is even smaller since there are fewer top guards in the transfer portal and it's even harder to transfer to Stanford than get admitted as a frosh. I'm confident if such a guard had been interested and eligible Tara would have pounced.

Jason Key (Premier Basketball) tweeted his 12 person U17 team based on the first day of training and he had Nunu Agara on his team. Hope she keeps performing well and makes the team for real

Mike Flynn’s reports from the U17 trials highlight recruits Watkins, Thomas and Edwards amongst the 6 most impressive players. But he also mentions Agara, Betts, Hidalgo and Cheli as having strong sessions and making a push for the team. Let’s just have all of the 6 non committed players join Agara on Stanfords team and call it a day.

Jason Key tweeted that Watkins is the best player in the gym. Pretty strong statement given how much talent is at the trials.

Patiently waiting for Watkins to release her list of finalists. Or is she going to go the Bueckers route and just announce her commitment without doing a final list. Her recruitment seems similar to Rice where it’s very hush hush and we are all clueless as to her favorites.
