Lauren Fleshman was a distance runner and 5 time NCAA champion at Stanford about 20 years ago. Since then she has been a strong advocate for athlete rights and equity in sports. She has just published a memoir called Good for a Girl: A Woman Running in a Man's World. It's a critique of how the sports world treats female athletes.

Lauren was with Deanna Day Evans at the time whe. I walked up and brought up the quote “ I don’t know how I did it but it took balls”. For those who don’t know she came from 20 yards or so back with 300 to go to win by 20 in the national 5 K
