We win the most recent 2 sets and the post is about benching Baird…..
Yeah it’s ridiculous to talk about an OH hitting zero after 3 sets
And the SA is just one of the reasons CB's still in

WTF just happened?
We don’t have a challenge announcer person.
We have gotten no calls tonight.
All right now!
Repeat - Kipp and Rubin were amazing tonight

Congrats to the team.
I thought ASU did a good job. Stanford could never put them away

23 kills for Kipp.
19 for Rubin
19 for everybody else
Baird did have a good day serving and on defense though. Led the team in aces and digs.

I enjoyed the in game comments. ASU's libero is good.
My predictions for Saturday:
Pitt wins, Nebraska sweeps, Wisconsin wins, and Stanford hard to predict.
Edit: sorry I made a mistake which I corrected. Meant to post Wisconsin wins; not Texas wins. Not used to staying up past midnight to watch a sporting event.

I heard Taylor Harvey's first choice is Texas. She went to the Stanford at Texas match early in the season. I wonder if she will be at the match tomorrow at Maples? I heard she wants to play wvb and wbb and Texas will let her do that. At this point her sister is Stanford's best recruiter.

30 digs is insane. The rest of ASU had 32. In comparison I think Baird led Stanford with 17.

I stayed up for the game last night, and I vaguely remember watching it and being pleased we won, although I dozed off several times before the end. I remember the announcers saying something like "and to our East Coast viewers, you are REALLY our kind of people...."

Baird had her worst match of the year both offensively (10 kills and 9 errors) and defensively (poor serve return until 4th set). The reason she had 17 digs is because every serve was aimed at her because she was the weak link.
Rubin, Kipp and Miner were great and the only reason we won and weren't killed. But we're moving on, albeit struggling. We have to get it together for UT or we're headed home before Final Four again.
I think Wisconsin-Oregon will be tight match. Oregon is playing well and no surprise if they upset. Nebraska and Pitt dominating.

30 digs would tie with 4 others for 10th best in history for Stanford. (Most recent was Morgan Hentz's 32 in 2018)
Of course, what stands out for Stanford is the 12 errors in the first set. The other 3 sets totaled 12 errors.
There have been 18 matches in which Stanford has lost a set. For those 18 matches, Stanford is 48-28 in sets, but only 9-9 in the first set. Relative to their opponent, Stanford tends to have a weak first set. (It could be that Stanford isn't ready, or that Stanford has more endurance or more adjustments by coaching staff, etc.)
The 12 errors in set 1 is the most errors in any set by Stanford (they had 2 sets with 9 errors against UCLA). I didn't notice a pattern of significantly more errors by Stanford in the 1st set.
Interesting, in the previous ASU match that Stanford lost 0-3, Baird led with 12 kills and only had 3 digs. In Thursday night's 3-1 match, she had 10 kills and 17 digs.
Per GoStanford, Kipp's 23 kills was a season high (6th double-double). Baird's 17 digs was a season high (2nd double-double). Rubin's 19 kills and 15 digs was her 13th double-double. Vicini's 6 blocks passed Kerri Walsh and tied Lutz for 9th most career blocks at Stanford.

I certainly disagree about Baird. She had a number of awesome digs. She was extremely good in the back row.

I didn't realize serve receives were counted as digs. Boy, the ASU player with 30 digs must be terrible!
Adding in the 17 digs, gives her 101 for the season, 5th on the team. Would the weak link theory mean that the other 4 players are worse?
Baird is 3rd on the team at Receive% of 0.945 for the season.
In short, I think the assertion "Baird had her worst match of the year" is rather foolish.
