That first set was shaky. I love your comment Card10Fan, "It looked like the first game of the year."

So I guess the "international rules" were just the time-outs? (Automatic at scores of 10 and 20, plus one per team per set.)
I didn't see anything else different.

The team played much better than I expected. Running a new system with so many new players, I expected the team to play poorly. There were some poor moments for sure but overall the team played good. The team pass better than expected as well. Elia Rubin was great, great leader. Talent and potential are there. The first year players are eager and the team will get better.

I didn't get a chance to watch. How was Stanford's serving and serve receive?

That was fun to watch (started near the end of the 3rd).
Stanford had 11 service errors part way through the 4th set to Florida's 10.
Can't provide any context though.

Oh, and they only switched sides once, after the second set.

Lots of Sayer.
On the boxscore, Rubin (14 kills, .343 hitting) stood out.
Kurt only played 2 sets. Was she injured?
Parks had 23 assists and 9 kills, since she's the OPP when up front and S from the back row. If she's an effective oppo, the 6-2 might work out well.

Blyashov started. Kurt came in for her late in set 3 and stayed in for set 4. Both played very well.

Blyashov hit .000 so “well” maybe a bit strong. Maybe promising? Kurt was very good subbing in the later sets .429. Harvey had a bad start but slowly worked her way into things. Couldn’t hit down the line though most of the match. Rubin was the star to nobody’s surprise.
The Frosh were are all very interesting in good ways.
Blocking was pretty good. Court coverage less so. The rest felt OK which is probably good with all the changes and first match jitters.

Back here in Lincoln for game two. Teams seems ready to go and confident. Will need big games from Rubin and Harvey and solid effort from the newcomers. Crowd is big and loud. I’m hopeful we are up for the challenge.

Brutal start for the Card so far. We just look shaky with passing and setting thus far - hopefully we settle down and play better moving forward.

Pretty shaky play from the Sayer and Parks. Setting and timing has been just a tick off. Defense is a step slow. Rubin has been leaving it all on the court. Harvey has been a no show this far. Nebraska is very good! Learning experience big time for our team.
