The women of Stanford golf make very substantial NIL money from commercial sponsors while in school. She won’t need to turn pro to pursue prize money.

In 2021, a 17-year-old was T3 going into the final round… and she went to and stayed at Stanford for 4 years… Worked out okay for Megha.

The women's British Amateur tournament is being competed this week at Muirfield. Paula Martin Sampedro is the defending champion.
The format is the same as the US Amateur. 36 holes of qualifying to narrow the field to 64, then match play.
Stanford has 6 players in the field. Scores after the first day of qualifying.
T3. Martin Sampedro -4
T5. Ortengren -3
T17. Revuelta even
T51. Sundberg +2
T68. Song +3
T87. Elsayegh +4

In the afternoon, Ortengren put up 4 bogeys and a double and lost. Revuelta posted 5 bogeys and an X (and no birdies) and won.

Revuelta has played her way into the finals!
In the quarters, Revuelta birdied the 17th to take a 1 up lead in a very tight match against fellow Spaniard Cayetana Fernandez and she protected that lead with a par on 18 for a 1 up win.
In the semis, Revuelta birdied the 17th to take a 1 up lead in a very tight match against NCAA champ Farah O'Keefe and she protected that lead with a par on 18 for a 1 up win.
Revuelta will play Valentine Delon from France (and Virginia Tech) in the finals tomorrow.

Revuelta was 2 down after the morning 18. She got the match back to all square after the 24th hole, but then hit a rough patch with several bogeys and several Xs. She could not recover and lost 3 and 1.

This just made my day. I’d been hoping Deng would come to Stanford. She is good and very very focused on golf. She’s been continually rising in the amateur rankings. Now sitting just above both Talley and Ortengren.

Coach Walker is keeping the pipeline full! Stanford has just received a commitment from Clairey Lin for the class of 2028. Lin, a Canada native, is the #2 ranked junior in the country and #56 ranked amateur in the world. Last weekend she won the US Junior Championship.
