Cross-country recruits are tough to land. And when was the last time a kid from Gilman chose Stanford? 

Shaw will have to make another OT offer. I wonder about a Cali kid like Alex Akingbulu, who holds an offer from Michigan that might no longer be operative. Or Luke Wattenberg, who committed to UW a few months back. Alves is a good Cali OL prospect but not a tackle. If not one of those guys, then maybe someone who performed well at the June camp ala Nate Herbig.
