One game certainly is not make or break. Stanford just needs to stay in the top tier of football schools to maintain its broad alure. With that said, Stanford does need to win its fair share of big games to remain in the top tier and the U$C win helps in that regard. Of course, U$C is Stanford's stiffest competition for west coast recruits, especially SoCal recruits. In 2016, Stanford obviously has a bunch of SoCal recruits with U$C offers. Costello, Robinson, and Long are already committed, plus Crawford and Burton are still on the table. In 2017, Stanford is pursuing Holmes, Andrus, and Davis in SoCal, plus Sarrel and Ahmed in WA and Marchiol in CO.
