He's expressed a preference to go to Oregon. That may reflect that Crawford wants a flashy team and a school that isn't so academically rigorous. If so, there are plenty of schools that have more features of Oregon than Stanford has. Also, even if Stanford were his second choice, and even if he were to commit to Stanford (due to the lack of an offer from Oregon), he would always be a risk to flip to the dark side if/when an offer comes.Â
With all that said, this is h.uge. Stanford's only deep threat on the roster with eligibility after 2016 is Isaiah Brandt-Sims, who didn't play WR in high school, and is still a bit of a project. Crawford ran an electronically timed 4.45 at The Opening and is a legitimate deep threat. He would add an element to the offense that Stanford otherwise might not have post-2016.Â
