I too enjoy word play. I appreciate folks playing off instances when a typo or misspelled word brings an alternative meaning to a comment, especially if it brings new and hilarious meaning to the original post. (E.g., the depth chart vs. death chart). However, I've also seen an increase of instances where people just pop on to essentially say "that's not what that means" just for the sake of correcting someone, rather than engaging in the substance of the post. It's a not-so-subtle put down, IMO. But if you're able to work in your word about a auger/augur into an actual response to the original comment and actual move the conversation forward at the same time, kudos to you.
