The Trevor Matich clip that he quoted was just delightful.  I will never tire of national pundits lauding our physical nature and describing how good of a job we do in blocking.  I know it's relatively meaningless media puffery, but I can't help it--I just eat that stuff up. 

Feel free to keep holding us up as the gold standard of aggressive OL play and general blocking prowess, ESPN!  You can argue whether the "line up and hit 'em in the mouth by running Power over and over" shorthand to describe our offensive identity holds true in the age of McCaffrey et al. finding lots of success on counters and outside runs (or was ever true, really, given that we had a pretty darn effective passing offense a few years back with that fellow named Luck and our army of NFL-caliber TEs), but I don't think we can argue that it's pretty darn useful shorthand in recruiting.  If you're a smart offensive lineman, is there a better place for you anywhere in the country?  And what RB wouldn't want to run behind that line?  What QB wouldn't want to drop back behind it? 

Anyway, glad to see that Yarbrough will fit right in.  He's yet another reason why the annual predictions of the Stanford program's imminent demise make me grin.  First it was Gerhart leaving, then Harbaugh, then Luck, then Luck's weapons (Ertz/Toilolo/Taylor), then our All-World defense (Skov/Murphy/Gardner et al.), and now it's supposed to be the graduation of the rest of our heralded 2012 OL recruiting class?  Yes, those guys have been great.  But there are plenty more 4-star OL recruits trained in the same system that are ready to step into their shoes.  As long as those guys keep picking Stanford, we're not going anywhere.
