I look at those numbers and think geez, it's a good thing the c.al people were determined not to give away the store to Yikes. What would they look like otherwise???

While perfectly true in any absolute sense or sane world, in relative terms that is not giving away the store. He seems to be in the lower half of salaries for Pac 12 head coaches. There are some numbers in a c.a.l. blog on the Merc web site - though note that for Dykes the number is an average over the next four year while for the others the numbers are for this past year. They're all probably going up.
