I didn't hang on the fence to watch spring practices back in 2012, but knew relatively early in the 2012 season that Hogan would be the starter sooner rather than later.

Hogan is set to have a few honors too.  3 time starting QB for Pac-12 CG & 3 time winner of Pac-12 CG.  3 time Rose Bowl starter, and if Hogan wins the 2016 Rose Bowl he will become a LOCK for the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame.  And Hogan was the first Stanford QB to beat Unbelievably Spoiled Children TWICE in one season.  :)

It is so easy to just ask a few what-ifs when teams, and players, are so close to the top of the sport, but there is no doubt that the me at the 2012 Fiesta Bowl would have been very willing to take the next four years of Stanford football we have enjoyed.

I would think he's gotta also be the first to have played in 4 Big Game wins and possibly the first to have started 3 wins.  (For QBs that is.)
