So when Andrew Luck looked like he might not win because voters might vote for Cam Newton (superior stats, non-contending team), the Nose-Punching Campaign was conceived, intending to take me all across the country to punch everybody in the nose who did not vote for Luck.

Wait what?  Cam Newton's Auburn won the national championship that year (over Oregon).  You can make a lot of complaints about Cam Newton (like possession of stolen property and whether he was an amateur, given that his father solicited $120,000 from Mississippi State for his son to go there, for example), but playing for a "non-contending team" is not one of them.
