How long after LOI day did Erik Lorig Sign?  I remember Tyrell Pryor waited until March before he signed.  So I don't buy the "there will be tremendous pressure to sign on LOI day" meme at all. 

No matter what, there will be time for Robertson to delay his LOI to wait for a Stanford admissions decision.  The part that baffles me is why you wouldn't just visit on Jan 15 with the other members of the class, to get that out of the way and check that box.  Hell, if he decided he didn't like Stanford after being there, he could then just sign his LOI on Feb. 3 without any complication to UGA, Bama or ND.

Out of the approximately 3,000+ kids that sign with a FBS program every year, how many of them are very high-profile recruits that wait to sign until after NSD?  One? Two?  Sure, it happens.  But pointing out a few examples of kids waiting to sign until later doesn't disprove my point that there will be a lot of pressure to sign that day. 

I hope he gets the score he needs and comes.  But the signing day pressure is real.  There is obviously a mythology built up around signing day that is tough for kids to get past, with the high-ranking undecided kids getting live national TV at their announcement ceremonies.  And there is the more pressing concern of a school filling up its available scholarships on signing day, not wanting to risk leaving a spot open for a 5-star that may not come.  I hope he's one of the few that puts aside the hype of signing day and waits to make the right decision. 

That said, I agree with you that waiting to take official visits (and not just to us, but to other schools as well) is an unusual decision.  Not sure why he doesn't do as you suggest and get a sense of each place so he can make an informed decision in the limited amount of time he'll have after the test score comes back and before signing day (if that's how it will work out).
