I didn't say I disagree with the academic standards. Its tiresome, though, that every January and February we learn of good student-athletes, recruited to Stanford, who commit and then are denied (for whatever reason). I suppose I find it to be a sour note for each close to the recruiting cycle. But in some ways that's life with Stanford admissions. And it makes the last 5 years simply remarkable.
