Yeah, Stanford is clearly the superior football program. I actually think Texas is going to turn around pretty quickly under Strong. If I was a betting man I would bet that in two years Texas is going to be seriously back in the game.Â
Each person has their own inscrutable reasons for wanting to go somewhere. I've got two kids who had more fulfilling college experience than I and they weren't at elite schools. I enjoyed Austin more than Palo Alto, but I chalk most of that up to immaturity.
I tried to do the legal pad with the pluses and minuses of each school with my kids when they were looking at schools and it never worked. They wouldn't listen to reason.
I just had to deal with being away from home when I was younger. These kids have to deal with being away form home, dealing with DI football, and dealing with challenging academics. I don't have any problem understanding why someone might want to try the lessen the stress of one of these variables.
