EUTM may decide not to renew his scholarship if he is recruited over in maybe as little as two years.

I didn't even think this was possible, but did a little interwebs research, and found that a scholarship can indeed be revoked for athletic, academic, or disciplinary reasons. Wow. I am surprised. Has that ever happened at Stanford, that a scholarship was revoked for non-academic and non-disciplinary reasons, i.e., because a player was not good enough to contribute?
