Outside of Washington the conference really stinks. And even Washington was taken to OT by a pretty lousy Arizona. Despite two impressive wins in a row, the Cougs lost to Eastern Washington and Boise State. On top of that, Utah lost at Cal, and even though ASU is 5-1, it's one was a thrashing by USC, and was forced into playing its 3rd QB of the season agains a UCLA team playing much of the game without Rosen.
Colorado might have been the glimmering hope, but they missed the opportunity to beat Southern Cal, and have now breathed life into their season. At this point, UW can't afford a loss because the conference is so bad. I would certainly not blame the committee for putting Clemson and Louisville in the playoff along with Alabama and OSU/Mich winner.
