Gould is kind of a coaching god to ןɐɔ fans.  This one stings for them as they were hoping he would re-join ןɐɔ on the Wilcox staff.

A little surprised Tom Rathman didn't end up at Stanford.  He has the NFL experience you'd think Shaw would want on his staff.  Gould has no NFL experience, but his results at ןɐɔ can't be questioned either.

I heard Rathman on KNBR earlier this week while driving to work, and it sounded like he was probably going to sit out this year and try to get an NFL gig next year.  B/c the 49ers job couldn't be finalized until after the SB, all of the other NFL openings had largely been filled, and he said he had no interest in going to the college level.

In any event, Gould seems like a great hire.  I wonder what he'll be able to do with Love in 1 season, and I have high hopes for the future of the position as long as he's here (not that we've been hurting at RB in recent history).
