Israel was 3-0 through its first round play (def NED, KOR, TPE).  In the second round, they beat CUB on Saturday night but fell today to NED 12-2.  They'll play JPN to finish their second round schedule--top two from each group advance to the semifinals, making this a likely win-or-go-home game.

Israel seems to have displaced traditional baseball stalwart South Korea to advance out of the first round (along with NED).  No doubt the South Koreans are smarting over that one.
