This isn't that sort of article Spiny but we can guess what events the author is alluding to. 

Stanford has received a lot of bad press for how it handled Title IX issues in the past year plus dealt with a ton of irate alumni for a band ban that was essentially negated by the outgoing provost.  We could point to multiple threads on our own board questioning how these events were handled.

The author would have been remiss if he hadn't at least tried to connect the dots.  He might as well have just published the school's own release. 

I admit I want a lot more info but this is a "day of" article.  Context and analysis may come later.
