At the dinner table one night when my eldest was 15, I was preoccupied and not really following the conversation and he said "Dad, what's your dream job," and I replied "Bartender in Maui," absolutely without thinking about it.  He laughed and I looked up to find out what I'd missed to find myself face to face with my furious bride.  "Can I talk with you for a minute?" she said.  Let's just say I didn't do any talking.

At reasonably frequent intervals I get in trouble with my wife for saying things to the kid that she doesn't like. Still, for the life of me I cannot see that she would have any problem whatsoever with me stating that a dream job is bartender in Maui.

... of course that could be why I get in trouble from time to time.
