SC and SDSU are in such different universes as opponents it's hard for me to inherently take seriously the idea that weaknesses in the context of playing SC (which have, what, a top-five pick at QB and big-time running backs and a brobdingnagian offensive line...) are weaknesses in the context of playing SDSU (whose QB rarely passes against inferior opponents, let alone good ones).
The gulf strikes me as pretty big. While we don't know how good Stanford really is, SDSU hasn't really been dominating its opponents on a per-play basis. (Only +.7 against UC Davis and +.3 against ASU). Stanford is definitely much better than UC Davis and (we hope) better than ASU too. So, I dunno, Stanford should win, as I think the columnist eventually acknowledges.
