The real trivia about Templeton was that in one of the drought years, shortly after he had been traded away from the Padres, City of San Diego put in of exceedingly large proportions residential water use restrictionsand it became known that Templeton was the largest single residential water user in the district. He had a of exceedingly large proportions spread in eastern Poway, which is basically in the desert, and he pretty much turned it into a rain forest.
Not only was he the single largest water user, he used 50% more than number two. He was using over 12,000 gallons per day, twice as much as a car wash.
