I agree.  What we saw tonight wasn’t lack of effort (look at Meeks’ game saving tackle from the ground, or Phillips on like every play), what we saw was a lack of focus.  We were pressing; it was evident from the first play of the game, where Scarlett tried to return a kickoff he should have taken a knee on.  It felt like, especially on offense, everyone was trying too hard, and as the game wore on, it started to smack of desperation.

Hope you are wrong about Love, but I wouldn’t be surprised.  Shaw often keeps injuries close to the vest and says players are day-to-day even when there is no way they can play.  At least we have 9 days until WSU.
