Brennan Scarlett has a fumble recovery against Buffalo; Justin Reid has a pair of tackles.
Luck is facing Sam Darnold and the Jets. Indianapolis is losing 33-20. Luck's line is hurt by his two interceptions:
12/22 (55%) 178 yards (8.1 ypa) 2 TD 2 INT
BC
Quiet day for Christian McCaffrey so far; 8 carries for 20 yards; 3 catches for 24.

Notice the excellent blocking? The play fake didn't do much; Tampa was blitzing anyways and rushed five; the blitzing outside linebacker did not freeze at the fake hand-off; he was just well blocked. The key was the stacked receiver set. (also helped that the offensive line was able to keep the pocket clean). One of the receivers goes deep, taking both the cornerback and safety with him and letting Hooper establish himself underneath. Even then, the play should have gone for four yards had the safety covering Hooper been able to make the tackle. Nice play by Hooper that got him the touchdown; bad tackling by the DB. Also, nice recognition by Ryan to throw it to the spot vacated by the blitzing linebacker.
Now the reason I liked the play is that it was an easy way to gain four to five yards (I assume had the linebacker not been blitzing that Hooper could have run a route outside), and had the upshot of a touchdown if Hooper could beat the safety one on one, which he did. You will take plays like that: high probability of gaining a moderate amount of yardage with an upshot of a tocuchdown and relatively little downside barring a bad throw or a blown blocking assignment. Less than four seconds elapsed from when the ball was snapped to when Matt Ryan released it, so even with a blitz coming the line just had to be good enough. But the same play could have been run out of the shotgun and would have been equally effective.
