You would think that with the depth issues we've had this year (including going into spring with only a healthy walk-on QB), that Shaw might want to re-evaluate his approach and perhaps offer more than one QB, depending on circumstances. For example, he might want to offer a two QB's in the year after getting zero commits, so as to average one QB per year.
A scenario where between now and next year: Costello goes pro, Mills retires from football, McKee decides to go elsewhere after his mission, and we are left with Jack West and a former walk-on as our only QB depth. If West is more Nunes/Nottingham/Burns/Chryst-like than he is Hogan/Costello-like, we will be completely screwed come 2020. It's a numbers game, and right now 1 out of 3 QB's in our system has panned out.
I don't know the younger Butterfield from anyone else, but I really do believe we have to keep at least 4 QB's on the roster at all times.
