Just curious what people think is the better job --

HC at Sac St

OC at Stanford

in terms of pay, a stepping stone, whatever?

I would think that in terms of "stepping stone" being able to bring college head coaching experience (even if not at a FBS team) and coordinator experience at a power 5/FBS team is probably a pretty well-rounded CV for an FBS head coaching experience.  Of course, if your former head coach can't vouch for your coordinating acumen, then you might run into trouble.

But my guess is that if he is successful as a head coach at Sac State, he would be in line for a head coaching gig in FBS.

Here's a weird thought -- It seems to me that coaching at a non FBS school might be harder than at a prominent FBS school because you don't have the "recruiting brand weapon" that the football factories do.  You have to win with what you've got, which for the most part is not superstar level of talent coming out of high school.  At the same time, you don't have as much pressure on you as a high-profile job like, say, UCLA or U$C.
