Richt is 58 years old with 5 years left on a contract that was set to pay him roughly $4 million/year. His “retirement” was not voluntary. The AD stripped him of playcalling duties after the season and told him that he needed to overhaul his offensive staff. Sure, Richt could still be the head coach at Miami if he had agreed to those terms, but I’d be willing to bet a healthy sum that he’s not walking away empty handed.
