More unknowns:

Stanford going to a 4-3? Have three capable OLB’s and no ILB’s. Have no experienced FS. New punter. Have a flex TE and no other pass catching TE’s.

Doubts about a coach.

Bleak.

As opposed to this year, when we had an experienced FS, but he didn't play as well, particularly in run defense, and the angles he would take. Every year and every season, there are unknowns and question marks about every team. Not saying we are primed for a Rose Bowl season next year or something (though I would argue that the Pac-12 schedule favors us over both UW and Oregon, with us getting both teams at home). The question is whether we will have the personnel to capitalize on the odd year schedule.
