I'm pleased to see that Stanford was essentially untouched in their 1V and V4+ heats. They should have some gas in the tank saved for later. (Indeed, without reps, there were no really close races for the coveted third-place qualifying spot...10 of 12 D1 events had over a boat length between the last qualifier and the next competitor.)
The 2V had a dogfight with Texas that might have cost both boats some unnecessary lactic acid. Still, I like their chances to advance to the A Final, as I do for both of the other Stanford boats.
After the early season losses to kal, UW, and Texas, the heat results are very encouraging.
