But Belibi started playing late and has said she wants to go to medical school instead of turning pro--and I think those factors kept her a little lower in the rankings than she deserves. She became famous for her dunks but as her high school coach said, she had to learn how to dribble, pass, and shoot. What amazed him and everyone else is how fast she developed those skills after not playing basketball for most of her life. I think some have been skeptical that she is more than a dunking wonder and are only now beginning to see her full potential. It is beginning to look to me as if she might have an upside potential like that of Chiney but might take an extra year or two to get there.
It is so easy to be optimistic just now. Waiting for November is worse than Christmas as a 5 year old.
