The Indy Fans are fools. I understand they feel rejected by Luck retiring. However, he gave them everything he had. The tank is empty right now. They can expect no more. Some of the fans are mad he didn't quit before the draft. They should just be glad he didn't spend this year on IR and not allow the Colts to plan for the future even though he was going to quit anyway. He could have made a lot more money by doing just that, maybe even get a PUP settlement on the rest of his contract. At draft time, he wasn't sure he couldn't be ready to play this year. Now, he is sure he can't. Too many injuries with no time to get totally right.

Unlike some, I wouldn't be amazed that in two years or so, Luck may want to play again. He has been on a treadmill since 2015, and that wears on you. Maybe after some real time off, with nobody wanting to know if you can play next week, he may want to give it another go. I also wouldn't be amazed if he didn't.

I would be very surprised if tries to come back down the road.  First, I don't think his identity is all tied up in being a football player.  He has always been described as a very intelligent guy with lots of interests beside football.  Now he can afford to take off with his wife, travel, heal up and decide what the next step will be.  My guess his wife had some input regarding his decision.
