There is no arguing the reality that the Colts didn’t invest in an O line to protect their prized QB asset. I think it’s also fair to say Luck, believing his size and toughness would allow him to handle anything on a NFL field, took unwise liberties with his body.
He seemed to take a lot of unnecessary punishment trying to make plays in the open field for his team, rather than limiting the hits he took. I remember watching him play earlier in his career thinking he wasn’t going to last long in the game if he played this way.
It was great to see Chris Ballard build a very good OL last year so Luck could finally play with some protection. Speaking of Ballard, for my money, he’s a Top 5 GM in the NFL. Too bad he wasn’t there sooner.
