Frosh Force. Six true freshmen played against the Wildcats.

• WR Elijah Higgins saw some action, presumably on ST given the depth of that position. He must be really good if coaches are considering burning his shirt, because we have a lot of WRs. Then again, we seem to play one true frosh WR every year. Last year it was Michael Wilson, the year before that, Connor Wedington, and the year before that, Donald Stewart.
  
• RB Austin Jones got some PT, carrying the ball once for one yard. Not sure if he played any snaps other than that carry, or if he played ST. Cool to see that they think he is good enough to contribute. Would love to see lots of good RBs.
  
• CB Kyu Blu Kelly played; recording a tackle. On schedule, Duane Akina played a true frosh CB from the jump. Kyu Blu played on STs, but also got in the game on defense toward the end. Looks like he must be the best of the (sizeable) bunch of frosh CBs.
  
• S Jonathan McGill also played, and also recorded a tackle. Not sure if he got in on defense or only on ST. We need safeties, so glad to see this development.
  
• T Walter Rouse came in to play at LT when Walker Little went down. He seemed to do just fine, thank you very much. Think of that - a true freshman left tackle thrust into a close game in the fourth quarter to protect the QB's blind side across from an NFL-bound defensive end in his first collegiate game! Wow. Not sure if he appeared in the game before that moment or not.
  
• P Ryan Sanborn, a walk-on, was chosen to be the team's punter over Alex Gracey (and, I believe, Collin Riccitelli). He had five punts for a sub-par 32.6 yard average. His first punt was downed inside the 20, but he also kicked one into the endzone. Here's hoping he improves.
  

Note: The participation report, which is not always reliable, marked freshman RB Nathaniel Peat as having played, but it seem that he did not; apparently, there was some confusion, given that he has the same number as Jonathan McGill, who did play.
