Columbia's stadium and other outside athletic facilities are a fair subway ride away from campus. Not only does that discourage student game attendance, but it means the team has to take a bus to practice every day (or at least it used to).
Don't knock going to an FCS game. At least you won't hear these words so much: "full media timeout"
I had the chance to have a few conversations with Columbia's former football coach and Silicon Valley's original coach Bill Campbell. Very interesting guy. Didn't have much to coach with, though he made All-Ivy his senior year at Columbia. But he was a local legend of sorts, coach to Silicon Valley stars.
