Quote:[*]In response to our thin offensive line numbers, we have added junior Jake Koffman to the roster, who previously threw discus for the Stanford Track & Field team. A 6’2” 252-pound athlete from Maine, Jake is suitemates on campus with Tucker Fisk, Foster Sarell, Drew Dalman and Colby Parkinson. At the intersection of our need and Jake’s piqued interest, a new football career has been born. A track, soccer and basketball athlete in high school, Jake is now wearing #54 for Stanford.[*]
[*]Following the season-ending injury to senior kicker Jet Toner last week, we have added freshman Alexander Thorpe to the roster. The New York native camped at Stanford in high school and came recommended by Rodney Gilmore. We planned for Alexander to join the team in January to begin his development as a punter in the coming offseason. Suddenly down two kickers, we watched Alexander’s high school kicking film this past weekend, called him Sunday, and had him cleared to join the team for his first practice on Monday. The son of Stanford men’s soccer alumnus Allen Thorpe will wear #39.

Aha, the brilliant strategy of carrying less than 85 full scholies finally pays off. Now let's raid the technie part of campus to find some folks with superpowers -- an invisible WR would be nice, as well as a RB who can fly, and maybe a DL who can turn his body into stone at the right moment. This is Stanford, we know they're out there.
