Frosh Force. Thirteen true freshmen played against the Wildcats. Ten of them have had their redshirts burned; no new burns this week, though Zahran Manley will probably have his burned next week, and Jake Hornibrook the week after. We'll see what they do with Stephen Herron.

• OLB Stephen Herron played in his second game of the year, but did not record a tackle.
  
• WR Elijah Higgins played on ST and on offense; Despite playing in all eight games this year, he has not yet had a ball thrown to him.
  
• OG Jake Hornibrook played in his third game of the season, starting at RG.
  
• RB Austin Jones had his most active game of the year, carrying the ball seven times for 33 yards, and caught one reception for 11 yards. Austin has played in all eight games this season.
  
• S Brock Jones, a former walk-on, played in his seventh game on ST, and did not record a tackle.
  
• S Spencer Jorgensen, a walk-on, played in his sixth game on ST, and did not record a tackle.
  
• CB Kyu Blu Kelly started at CB for the fifth week, and had a solid game, recording a PBU, and four tackles. He has played in all eight games this season.
  
• CB Zahran Manley played in his fourth game of the season on ST and on D; he did not record a tackle, but seems to have become the team's third CB, or at least co-third CB with Obi Eboh.
  
• S Jonathan McGill played on defense as the starting NB for the fifth straight week. He had a good game with 4 tackles, including a TFL, and had a PBU. He's played in all eight games this season.
  
• OT Barrett Miller played in his seventh game of the season, starting at LG.
  
• RB Nathaniel Peat carried the ball once for two yards, and had one reception for nine yards, and also had a tackle on ST. He played in his eighth game of the season.
  
• OT Walter Rouse started at LT for the seventh time. He has played in all eight games this season.
  
• P Ryan Sanborn, a former walk-on, had probably his best game of the year. He had five punts for a 43.8 yard average, with three 50+ yard punt, and one downed inside the opponent's 20. As the team's current kicker, he also had two FG (33 and 21 yards) and handled 8 kickoffs for a 64.9 yard average, with six (!) of them going for touchbacks. He's played in all eight games.

Re: Herron, keep in mind we're down 3 OLBs right now (Jordan Fox and Tobe Umerah injured [I saw Umerah in a boot at the game], Andres Fox redshirting). My guess is staff still wants to redshirt Herron and is relying on at least 1 of the 2 injured guys coming back within the next couple games. Worst case, Andres can play in 4 games and still preserve his shirt, so assuming we make a bowl we can play Herron next game, play Andres in the last 3, then have both available for the bowl.

Re: Sanborn, he had a fantastic game on STs. He had 1 shanked punt that he'd love back, but otherwise an excellent day - the other 30-something yarder was in plus territory late in the game, caught by Osiris St. Brown at Arizona's 10. Bailey sure spoiled us for a long time, and I look forward to Sanborn doing the same for the next few years.

Side note: Gracey is...not a good holder. Multiple holds with the laces towards the kicker. Again.
