A quick reminder that getting the laces facing out is not just on the holder; if done properly, the snapper can make it so that the laces are facing down when the football arrives at the holder, which makes the holder's job much easier.

Are you certain that the snapper is charged w/ getting the laces properly positioned?  I think that sound pretty preposterous.  Every video I have ever seen of that action shows the holder placing the ball down and simultaneously rotating the ball until the laces point toward the target.  It is usually a smooth action and happens almost every kick.  The fact that our holder seems unable to do this has perhaps put the pressure on the center.  It certainly seems that it is easier for the holder.

OK. I googled.  Obviously, if it is googleable it must be a thing.  But even so, if the snapper misses the placement of the laces, the holder MUST make the adjustment.  It should happen only very rarely that the laces are not moved out of the way.

Robbie Gould was an NFL-record kicker through 2018, with a career average of almost 90%.  His average this year, with a new holder?  63%.  He got back his long snapper two games ago and is 1 for 1 since.  The narrative was that the former snappers couldn't put the ball where they needed to put it and were inconsistent.
