Frosh Force. Eighteen (!!) true freshmen played against the Cougs. Twelve of them have had their redshirts burned; Jake Hornibrook officially used a year of eligibility with his fifth appearance of the season. There were also three debuts! It really is incredible, probably unprecedented, how many true freshmen are getting playing time. Yes, it is largely because of injuries. But it is also because various positional pipelines got inexcusably thin, IMHO. (And, of course, it is also because new NCAA rules allow true freshmen to play at the end of the season without using a year of eligibility if they play less than five games.)
- TE Bradley Archer made his season debut; he played on offense, and probably on ST. He did not record a statistic. Congratulations, Bradley!
- ILB Aeneas DiCosmo played in his second game; not sure if it was ST or D, but probably the latter. He did not record a tackle.
- OLB Stephen Herron played in his third game of the season, I think on ST, but probably on D as well, as he did against Arizona. He recorded a tackle.
- WR Elijah Higgins played on ST and on O as a blocking WR. He has played in in all ten games this year, but has not yet had a ball thrown to him.
- OG Jake Hornibrook started at RG for the fourth time. Playing in his fifth game of the season, he officially had his shirt burned.
- RB Austin Jones carried the ball two times for seven yards, and caught five receptions (!) for 27 yards. Austin has played in all ten games this season.
- S Spencer Jorgensen, a walk-on, played in his eighth game on ST, and did not record a tackle.
- CB Kyu Blu Kelly started at CB for the seventh week, and had a solid game with six tackles and a PBU. He has played in all ten games this season.
- CB Zahran Manley played in his sixth game of the season on ST and on D. He had two tackles.
- S Jonathan McGill played on defense as the starting NB for the seventh week. He had a solid game: five tackles and an INT. He's played in all ten games this season.
- OT Barrett Miller played in his tenth game of the season, starting at LG for the sixth time.
- C Drake Nugent played in his second game.
- DE Joshua Pakola made his season debut, on D. He recorded a tackle. Congrats, Joshua!
- RB Nathaniel Peat carried the ball once for a yard, and had one reception for one yard, and had a tackle. The hat trick! He played in his tenth game of the season.
- OT Walter Rouse started at LT for the ninth time. He has played in all ten games this season.
- P Ryan Sanborn, a former walk-on, did not punt due to injury, and missed his only FG attempt (39 yards) and made his two PAT attempts. He had four kickoffs without a touchback. Ouch. He's played in all ten games.
- ILB Tristan Sinclair played on D in his third game of the year, recording a tackle and PBU.
- CB Nicolas Toomer made his season debut on ST, and did not record a statistic. Congratulations, Nicolas!
